The Black American Heritage Flag. The Black American Heritage Flag was created in 1967. This flag was created to give the people of Black American Ethnicity our flag/symbol of heritage, culture and unity.
It was designed by Melvin Charles and Gleason T Jackson. The two men were at a Parade and they noticed every other Ethnic group had a flag to represent their ethnicity except for Black Americans. So, therefore they created a flag specifically for us.
